The 1920s was a time of great prosperity for the United States that helped to spur new leisure activities. Speakeasies, nightclubs, and new dances initially transpired from the easy-going nature expressed in the 1920s, when everyone seemed to be quite profitable. With higher wages and advances in inventions, people could afford extra time off of work to play or watch various new sports such as golf, tennis, baseball, and football. However, other people chose to spend this time differently, for example, enjoying movies and Broadway plays.
An interview with Lillian Stehly, Nate's grandmother. She agreed to answer a few questions about leisure and nightlife during the 1920s.
